Quick Tip Namibia

Windhoek - Etosha National Park - Swakopmund –
Walvis Bay – Namib Naukluft Lodge – Sossusvlei - Windhoek

Day 1:

Windhoek. Depart at around 09:00 towards Okahandja and Outjo to the famous Etosha National Park, where we’ll undertake our first game drive. The Park is well known for its huge herds of antelope and zebra. The highlight: we shall stay inside the Etosha National Park. You have the opportunity to watch the game also during the evening hours at the waterhole in Okaukuejo. Overnight on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis.

Day 2:

Etosha. A full day in Park lies ahead of us. Except for the rainy season, Etosha’s animals are dependant on artificial waterholes and natural springs. Explore the various waterholes along this enormous saltpan, which is called the “great white place of dry water” in a local language. More than 114 mammals species are found in the Park. Overnight again at Okaukuejo Rest Camp on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis.

Day 3:

Etosha. After breakfast and a brief drive in the early morning hours, we’ll leave the Park and head towards Omaruru, where we’ll visit the Kristall Kellerei for lunch and a wine tour. Onward drive to the premier coastal holiday resort: Swakopmund. Overnight on a bed and breakfast basis at the Hansa Hotel or similar.

Day 4:

Swakopmund. The whole day in Swakopmund is at leisure. You may want to join one of the activities, like quad-biking or sand-boarding in the dunes just outside Swakopmund. (These activities are excluded – but you can book them in advance or your guide will assist you to do the reservation). During the afternoon your guide will take you to the highlights of the Namib Desert: the Moonlandscape and the Welwitschia Mirabelis on your excursion. Overnight on a bed and breakfast basis at the Hansa Hotel or similar.

Day 5:

Swakopmund. This morning we shall drive along the coastline to the harbour town Walvis Bay. We will participate in a catamaran boat trip on the beautiful lagoon in Walvis Bay. Often these cruises are accompanied by dolphins and seals. Enjoy the prolific birdlife with pelicans and flamingos! We depart at around 13:00 from Walvis Bay, drive through the desert and arrive at the beautifully set Namib Naukluft Lodge during the late afternoon. Overnight on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis at Namib Naukluft Lodge.

Day 6:

Namib Naukluft Lodge. An early morning rise will be rewarded by the sight of the spectacular dunes at Sossusvlei on your excursion. Make the effort and climb one of the dunes and you may be overwhelmed by the sight of the dynamic and living desert. A pick-nick breakfast will be served at Sossusvlei. Visit the ‘Dead Vlei’ and the Sesriem Canyon before returning to the Lodge for lunch. Time to relax! Join a scenic ‘sundowner’-drive on this 25,000 ha private nature reserve. Overnight at Namib Naukluft Lodge on full board basis.

Day 7:

Windhoek. We’ll leave the lodge after breakfast and arrive in Windhoek at around lunch-time.
